The Dirt
Once is Enough for Keagan
The perfect game in baseball, 60 points scoring in basketball, or 500 yards passing in football. These are all commonplace next to the history that was set yesterday at the PGA Championship. Keagan Bradley joined the short list of only 2 other golfers who have won a major championship in their first time playing in one. Frances Ouimet in 1913 US Open and Ben Curtis some 90 years later at the Open Championship. It took 98 years after Frances did it to get the third. That makes it one of the shortest and most difficult lists to make in sports. If you think about it, you only get one shot at it. How does a man rise to such an occasion when never having ever played in one? It’s funny because you constantly hear pros talk about how you have to get there over and over before you can handle the pressure. Apparently Keagan never listened to that advice.
